Description
Summary:This work intends to address the convergences and divergences between the epistemological proposals launched in the works Provincializing Europe, by Dipesh Chakrabarty, and Local Histories / Global Projects: coloniality, subordinate knowledge and preliminary thinking, by Walter Mignolo. Based on the reinterpretations that these authors make of the hegemonic narrative of modernity, we intend to investigate how Chakrabarty's proposal to “provincialize Europe” and Mignolo's “decolonial turn” confront modern colonialist thinking, by rescuing, respectively, the subordinate experience of Indian and Latin American colonization.
