| Summary: | This article is part of a master's thesis that studied how stigmas and stereotypes about lesbianity influence the life, in the sphere of sexuality, of women who call themselves lesbians. Based on gender and feminist studies, we question the legitimations of heteronormative society presented as arbitrary discourses on the experience of lesbianity - promiscuity and sexual illegitimacy. Based on in-depth interviews, we present how theresearch participants (lesbian women) talk about this stigma in the construction of their subjectivities, through narratives of their life stories. This research was financed by the São Paulo State Research Support Foundation - FAPESP, and carried out by the Graduate Program of the Universidade Estadual Paulista - Campus de Assis-SP. |
