Description
Summary:This paper makes an analysis on the Brazilian rock and the musical criticism in the newspaper Rolling Stone, which circulated in Brazil from 1972 to 1973. This publication was a pioneer in publicizing issues related to counterculture and rock music, both the one produced in the country as the performed abroad. Despite its brief existence, the newspaper mapped the musical production considered as “rocker” of that period, and musical criticism was the mainstay of this process. Brazilian rock was undergoing an emptying period, with a few groups and artists dedicated to the genre, being a counterpoint to the current context of music market.
