The song “A Mancha” (The Stain) by Lenine (in partnership with another Brazilian composer, Lula Queiroga), and a video (uploaded on YouTube) are used as a descriptive example of how music works in today’s cyberculture, resulting in new ways of music listening and music creation. We analyze the process of creative reappropriation of the song “A Mancha” which is turned into a video available on YouTube. The video is seen as a product of cyberculture and of its open and interactive character. In the video, a layer of visual meaning overlaps the song, getting attached to it and strengthening its denouncing nature. Exploring the cyberculture interconnection to other areas of everyday life, the political nature of ecological issues in the world today is discussed and an example of using Lenine’s song and its video with an educational purpose is presented. To conclude, it should be pointed out that, through various ways in the cyberculture context, music can participate in everyday social and political actions. |

Este ensayo analiza algunas posibilidades de producción, difusión y (re) apropiación de la música en el contexto de la cibercultura, tomando como ejemplo ilustrativo el caso de la canción “A Mancha”, de Lenine (en alianza con Lula Queiroga) y un video producido para y lanzado en YouTube. Discutimos cómo la música está presente en la época contemporánea y en la cibercultura, incluyendo cómo llevar a nuevas prácticas creativas y de escucha. Analizamos el proceso de reapropiación de “A Mancha” que conduce al video disponible en YouTube y que se configura como una producción de cibercultura, con su carácter abierto e interactivo. En el video, una capa de significado visual se superpone a la música y la articula, ampliando el carácter de denuncia de la canción. En cuanto a la interconexión de la cibercultura con otros espacios de la vida cotidiana, discutimos el carácter político de los temas ecológicos en el mundo actual y presentamos un ejemplo del uso de la canción de Lenine y su video con fines educativos. Concluimos señalando que, en el ámbito de la cibercultura, a través de diferentes caminos, la música puede participar en acciones políticas de sensibilización y cuestionamiento. Este ensaio discute algumas possibilidades de produção, divulgação e (re)apropriação da música no quadro da cibercultura, tomando como um exemplo ilustrativo o caso da canção “A Mancha”, de Lenine (em parceria com Lula Queiroga) e de um vídeo produzido para ela e divulgado no YouTube. Discutimos como a música está presente na contemporaneidade e na cibercultura, inclusive levando a novas práticas de escuta e de criação. Analisamos o processo de reapropriação de “A Mancha” que leva até o vídeo disponibilizado no YouTube e que se configura como uma produção da cibercultura, com seu caráter aberto e interativo. No vídeo, uma camada de significação visual sobrepõe-se à música e a ela se articula, ampliando o caráter de denúncia da canção. Quanto à interligação da cibercultura a outros espaços da vida cotidiana, discutimos o caráter político das questões ecológicas no mundo atual e apresentamos um exemplo do uso da canção de Lenine e de seu vídeo com finalidade educativa. Concluímos apontando que, no âmbito da cibercultura, através de diversos percursos, a música pode participar de ações políticas de conscientização e questionamento.
