Summary:In this paper I discuss de conformation of an “official history” of choro and it’s reproduction in recent works produced, above all, in the academic realm. To this end I make use of a small narrative that condenses the main stages of choro's formation consecrated in this story to demonstrate how they were historically sedimented in the bibliography. In following, I present some considerations on how this hegemonic narrative is linked to aparticular conception of History by focusing on the relations between narrativity and power.
