Comprender la experiencia humana más allá de la dicotomía entre la agencia y la estructura es un desafío que enfrentan diferentes teorías y escuelas antropológicas. En esta perspectiva, presentaremos tres teorías diferentes que buscaron superar la explicación estructuralista del mundo: los estudios de redes sociales, propuestos por la antropología británica en la segunda mitad del siglo XX, como una forma de superar el funcionalismo estructural; la teoría actor-red propuesta por el francés Bruno Latour, como una forma de superar la "sociología de lo social"; y la noción de malla, elaborada por Tim Ingold en la construcción de una "antropología de la vida". Las tres perspectivas, de alguna manera, tienen presente el concepto de "red". Sin embargo, dicha presencia tiene significados radicalmente diferentes en cada uno. Compreender a experiência humana para além da dicotomia agência-estrutura é um desafio encarado por diferentes teorias e escolas antropológicas. Nesse trabalho apresentaremos três diferentes teorias que buscaram superar a explicação estruturalista do mundo: os estudos de redes sociais, propostos pela antropologia britânica na segunda metade do século XX – nomeadamente a “Escola de Manchester”, como forma de superar o estrutural-funcionalismo; a Teoria ator-rede proposta pelo francês Bruno Latour, como forma de superar a “sociologia do social”; e a noção de malha, elaborada por Tim Ingold na construção de uma “antropologia da vida”. Todas as três perspectivas, de alguma maneira, recorrem ao conceito de “rede”. Entretanto, tal presença tem sentidos radicalmente diferentes em cada uma delas.
