Description
Summary:This article consists of a partial review of social organization models produced by ethnography referring to tukanoan peoples of the Uaupés River since the 1960s, through which they became known for their peculiarities in the context of the studies on Amazonian kinship. Discussing some traits of these models from their expression in the myths of origin, we seek to reconsider the relevance of the concept of potential affinity among these peoples, and, with this, to put them back in broader debates and problematize the employment of the concept of hierarchy in the context of the relations between their sibs or clans.
