Description
Summary:This article approaches the problematic one of affective loneliness of two black women without fixed partners in Bahia. It based on the principle that categories of gender and race are important social markers for sexual-affective preferences of men and women in similar or different “racial” groups. I observe that the affective choices of black and white men for non-black partners are oriented by the following factors: the racialisation function with indicators which show body signs like the color, the esthetics of black and white women; the same way, the gender tensions express in the expectative of masculinity and paternity/polygamy; the empowerment of this black women as head of the family, with social-economic capital and politic prestige prevented the affective stability of those relations. Through the analyses of both trajectories, I had verified that the loneliness of those black women confirmed some of the demographic researches that indicate factors more complexes as social order, cultural and symbolic, responsible for their affective isolation.
