| Summary: | This paper criticizes the manner Latin American left mainstream is approaching Science and Technology Policy: the one that maintains that the dissemination of the fruits of science and technology progress within society or the appropriation of the scientific and technological knowledge by the citizens is a good route to promote the alternative style of development it proposes. Defending a different view, the paper shows why the scientific and technological knowledge as exists today is not appropriate to achieve this objective. And argues that the redesigning of capitalist technoscience through processes of Sociotechnical Adequation performed with focus on autogestionary cooperatives is a cognitive platform more consistent with the scenario of economic equity, social justice, and environmental sustainability that Latin American left governments are now building. |
