| Summary: | “Estrangement of the self” is a hybrid between psychosomatic and political-economic spheres, where illness appears as symptom of the productive exploration and disciplining of the subjects. It is expected to outline the sociogenesis of the process and its functional etiology to the systemic development. Starting from data found, the social structure of psychosomatization is evidenced and possibilities for reinventing the praxis of care in the integrative rationalities of health are identified.
