| Summary: | This article presents a study about musical performance based on the analysis of six recordings of the song “Tarde de chuva”, composed and performed by Paulo Moura. It sets out to systematize stylistic aspects of his interpretation deriving from the genres of choro, samba, gafieira and jazz besides contributing to the recognition of Moura´s legacy. The author’s methodology included musical analysis and interviews with commented hearings by Paulo Moura. It was made an investigation of Moura’s artistic trajectory reflected on his discography contextualizing “Tarde de chuva”. The analysis has included the investigation over each phonogram recording related to the score that Moura gave to the research. Considerations are made about the character of each phonogram, including instrumental formation, harmony, melody, rhythm, and interpretation. “Tarde de chuva” was reworked in many different situations accompanied by various musicians in contrasting instrumental formations synthesizing the eclectic trajectory and the search for new aesthetic paths made by Paulo Moura. |
