Description
Summary:In order to improve women’s participation in IT area, we have to identify the reasons for the lack of female interest, and provide actions to disseminate computing graduate courses. Thus, this paper presents the Meninas ++ (Girls++) initiative and the activities developed, from February/2014 to March/2015, in a public school. The results showed that the “lack of knowledge” was the main reason for female students avoids Computing/IT area. Thus, we develop several activities at school, such as lectures, group dynamics, technical visits and short courses. Additionally, we present the main difficulties and challenges experienced during the project execution.
