Summary:This paper aimed to present a survey of applications for mobile devices available on Google Play® and that can be used in the teaching of Chemistry. In addition, five apps produced in a research group that investigates and develops digital didactics resources for use in the Chemistry teaching are presented. The data points to a diversity of app available on the platform and some possibilities of using the applications are permissible. Furthermore, the results make it possible for Chemistry teachers to reflect on the need to develop pedagogical practices capable of addressing the specificities related to the Chemistry teaching and learning process with the use of apps for mobile devices, overcoming the current educational paradigm and being closer to the context of 21st century students.
