Let this number be dedicated to the eminent phoneticist Prof. João A. de Moraes has the moment of additional pleasure motivated not only by his brilliant career, but also by four important aspects that immediately emphasize those who live with Prof. Moraes: his erudition, his renowned scientific competence, his generosity and his kindness. It is very rare that, in the academic-scientific field, we find these qualities combined in a single person, but, in him, they are in harmony even with a well-marked Rio accent. |
