Summary:The development of a temporal sequence of the archaeological record is to establish times when there is continuity in the process and another where a breach is identified. To do so, understand the process of continuity and change in the theoretical sphere becomes a prerequisite.This article is a brief explanation of this process and touches on some points which presents theoretical questions and suggestions for the observation of changes in the archaeological record, a situation in which researchis often seen face to face. It’s also to search to observe some aspects in the technical sphere that can undermine or contribute to the formation of archaeological models that aim to address the chronological sequences of a particular area or region. In his summary, this is a theoretical attempt to work the issue, aware of the limitations and implications of the suggestions, criticisms and considerations on the subject.
