Summary:The main objective of the research is to characterize the pottery vessels of the collection from Archaeological site RS T 101, located in the municipality of Marques de Souza, state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, relating the utilization employed by the group that manufactured them. The methodology of analysis is based on the ensemble of ceramic fragments and on the characterization as surface treatment, diameter, brim inclination, graphic reconstitution and distribution in pre-defined classes of vessels. It was possible to conclude that the ceramic collection from RS T 101 site, frame into Tupiguarani Archaeological Tradition, corrugated subtradition, predominant in southern Brazil. The reconstitution from the brims identified 72 different vessels which frame into 2b and 1a classes, mainly used to serve, to cook and to eat food and in the smaller ones to drink.
