| Summary: | The present paper analyzes the main contemporary art criticism around the artist Anita Malfatti and the reflections of such criticism over ulterior studies about the artist. We start thus at the revision of some critics’ guidelines and, consequentially, at their relations with the characteristic artistic renovation projects of Brazilian art at the beginning of the 20th century. We analyze, afterwards, how these critics’ considerations are interpreted in the studies about this period of Brazilian art. |
