A produção artística de Lasar Segall é marcada por diferentes períodos em que ele se volta intensamente à representação de temas judaicos. Porém, em cada momento, esse diálogo com a cultura judaica possui características próprias, dependendo do contexto histórico e intelectual no qual ele ocorreu. O presente artigo procura recuperar a história da relação de Segall com o judaísmo, tratando essa relação, não apenas como o fruto de uma memória afetiva, ligada à sua infância, mas igualmente como um posicionamento efetivo do artista diante dos debates em torno da cultura judaica que marcaram sua época. A produção artística de Lasar Segall é marcada por diferentes períodos em que ele se volta intensamente à representação de temas judaicos.
