Resumo:The object of this analysis is to understand how the critical, artistic, and anthropological view of Heloísa Fénelon was, by exposing her experiences at the Symposium of the 1st Latin American Biennial of 1978. She showed us the process of empowering visual codes, with the representation of animals in the rites established by the Forest people. We have considered her perspective as an artist to the theme by developing, relating, and understanding specific analysis of indigenous drawings through direct observation compared to the academic canons. In conclusion, we have evaluated the understanding of indigenous taxonomies, which may occur when regarding the comparison of methodologies among visual, mythical and language codes.
