Description
Summary:This article addresses the construction of an identity and a history of Latin American art from exhibitions that, in the contemporary scene, have gained prominence as criticism, language and artistic reception. It also highlights Brazil's position in the debates on the regional integration through two art exhibitions in the country, Radical Women: Latin American art 1960-1985 and Distant Neighbours: Latin American art in the MAC USP Collection. The approach around the form and function of these exhibitions, and the institutions and agents involved, points to convergences and divergences in the formation of a legacy of art recognized as Latin American and in the insertion of Brazil in this artistic production.
