Description
Summary:The Regional Center for Educational Research (CRPE) of São Paulo was created by the National Institute of Pedagogical Studies in 1956 and operated in one of the buildings that now house the Faculty of Education of the University of São Paulo (FEUSP). It was dedicated to conducting educational research, offering courses to teachers and school administrators, advising teaching systems and pedagogical experimentation, also contributing to political mobilization in defense of public, universal, free, secular, and democratic education. Its articulations with the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters at USP and its sectors focused on Education marked its entire period of operation, which ended in the early 1970s, when it was incorporated into FEUSP.
