Description
Summary:Roberto Cardoso de Oliveira was one of the most distinguished Brazilian anthropologists, he worked in the creation of the first Postgraduate Programs in Social Anthropology (PPGAS) and developed a series of researches and projects that marked the development of the discipline in the country. Its documental collection was donated in the 1980s, a period of full professional activity, so that it could be accessed and that it could contribute to research interested in the history of anthropology in the second half of the 20th century. This article aims to present the potential of these documents that go beyond an analysis of their producer’s trajectory. This initiative was produced during the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the PPGAS at Unicamp, an institution that welcomed Cardoso de Oliveira for over ten years and which today keeps its collection through the Edgard Leuenroth Archive.
