| description | The aim of this article is to focus on the work of Xakriabá artisans with ceramics. It seeks to observe, besides production, also the circulation of the pieces produced between different places in the villages, highlighting their resumption, their importance and their place in everyday life among this Native people in Northern Minas Gerais. From this, it is expected to problematize the ways of knowledge through the practical experimentation of the potters with the clay of the villagesand its engagement with multiple raw materials, objects, tools and relationships that make pottery art an extremely complex activity, steeped in rich interactions between local human and non-human beings and of great value to the history and sociability of contemporary Xakriabá. The article relates the ecological dimension of Tim Ingold’s contemporary thought –in particular his conception of knowledge articulating sensitive modes and environment – and the experience of Xakriabá artisans with ceramics. |

O objetivo deste artigo é focalizar o trabalho dos artistas Xakriabá com a cerâmica. Buscamos observar, além da produção, também a circulação das peças e dos saberes produzidos a partir da retomada da cerâmica, entre os diferentes lugares das aldeias, destacando sua importância e conferindo seu lugar na vida cotidiana deste povo indígena no norte do estado de Minas Gerais. Espera-se, com isso, problematizar os modos de conhecimento por meio da experimentação prática dos ceramistas com o barro das aldeias e de seu engajamento com múltiplas matérias-primas, objetos, ferramentas e relações que tornam a arte ceramista uma atividade sumamente complexa, embebida em ricas interações entre seres humanos e não humanos locais e de grande valor para a história e a sociabilidade dos Xakriabá contemporâneos. O artigo põe em relação a dimensão ecológica do pensamento contemporâneo de Tim Ingold – em particular, sua concepção de conhecimento que articula modos sensíveis e o ambiente – e a experiência dos artistas Xakriabá com a cerâmica.
