| Summary: | The editorial of Volume 2 (2021) synthesizes contemporary discussions on digital preservation, records management, and technologies applied to Archival Science, bringing together six works that span conceptual models and emerging practices. The collection highlights the increasing complexity of digital environments and the need to integrate theoretical foundations, technological tools, and interdisciplinary approaches. The studies examine the impact of information technologies on records management performance, the relevance of the OAIS model within archival contexts, the central role of preservation metadata in ensuring the integrity of digital records, and the contribution of open-source tools such as Hipátia to institutional workflows. Additional discussions address certification criteria for Dataverse repositories and the intersections between digital forensics and Archival Science, broadening the scope of digital preservation beyond traditional practices. Two synchronous presentations held via Meet strengthened the collaborative dimension of the volume, fostering dialogue among authors and readers. Overall, the editorial underscores the scientific and practical significance of the contributions, establishing the volume as a reference for advancing the preservation of digital memory.
