Description
Summary:The visual anthropology of religion distinguishes between techniques and rituals. In this field, it has become possible to study the socio-psycho-biology of religious events. These "somatic modes of attention" pass through the body during a worship ceremony in which participants are invited to use various postures and movement techniques. The body, as an experiential tool, is the central locus of the emotional mechanisms that prepare the faithful to incorporate a new ethos. This reflection examines the transmission of these practices through non-verbal languages and the "training of the body" in this "body-church".
