| Summary: | In this article I aim to deepen the notion of cinema as a political resource and indigenous category among young people of the Guarani Mbya people who are located in Aracruz, in the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil. The ethnographic experience that gives origin to the theme occurred during the elaboration of an indigenous cinema project, idealized by a group of residents of the village Boa Esperança, whom I assisted in the writing and in the relations with the Secretariat of Culture of the State of Espírito Santo. The research deals with cinema as a tool for articulation between indigenous and non-indigenous people, understanding the current Mbya visibility strategy with regard to the engagement of young indigenous leaders in filmmaking. |
