| Summary: | In the research “Social distinction in musical practices - education, media and politics” (CORDOVIO, 2019), I sought to understand the construction of values expressed by young members of an institution dedicated to teaching music linked to the instrumental genre, the main reference for their practices. Socialization processes were considered in the various educational instances that produced symbolic goods throughout their life trajectories. The focus, presented here, articulates the biases attributed to the media experiences woven in the institutional path, to the effects they inferred. The results indicate an increase in diverse capital by young people (cultural, social, economic), as well as the possibility of their subjection to the symbolic violence underlying those experiences. |
