Description
Summary:Recently, Brazil's economic policy has suffered an inflection and neoliberal thinking has returned to occupy decision-making spheres of power. The impacts of this change, consolidated in the mandates of Michel Temer and Jair Bolsonaro, on the world of work are the concern of this article. The text argues that there has been a deterioration in the occupational structure, expressed in the growth of unemployment, in the loss of quality of the jobs generated, and in the advance of unwanted inactivity. It emphasizes that the problems caused by Covid-19, a relevant fact, have only aggravated the pre-existing scenario. To achieve this purpose, the text combines a discussion of the bibliography recently produced on the subject with an analysis of data from household surveys.
