Description
Summary:In the article, it is argued about indigenous cultures, which, in many cases, are exposed in a stereotypical way, within a colonialist vision, in the Art discipline. The results of a research carried out in Campo Grande/MS, based on the determination of the Law 11.645/2008 and with theoretical support in Cultural Studies and Modernity/Coloniality Group, the indigenous cultures are discussed from the perspective of difference, in which other knowledges are possible. The study aims to contribute to potentiate and intend the teaching of/about indigenous cultures present in the State of Mato Grosso do Sul, as markers of struggles, resistance and politics. It was concluded that to debate, based on the achievements of the various ethnic groups, is to break with the tendency to fix them in the past; the re-signified art enables the dialogue between indigenous and non-indigenous people and points to intercultural paths.
