Sumario:This paper presents an analysis of rural householders strategies for social reproduction. Those householders are linked to rural development projects informed by social, environmental and political innovative discourses. Two are the key ideas: on the one hand, the creation of new rural spaces is increasing; they are defined by the diversification of activities and by intensified dialog between different actors sharing similar environmental concerns, for example, the search of “healthy” food or the appreciation of the rural life and landscape. On the other hand, the elaboration of strategies by householders is also examined. They intent guarantee the unit of familiar heritage by the articulation of different opportunities emerging from these new configurations. Finally, the paper seeks to offer an interpretation regarding the notion of pluriactivity – clarifying the meanings and the role of the multifunctionality in agriculture.
