Description
Summary:In this essay we analyze and discuss the relationship between the experience of individuals and streets, neighborhoods and cities, especially of areas considered to be peripheral, which are presented/ represented in music videos by Latino performers and groups from the 2000s onwards. Through the observation and analysis of such works - and of others that are only mentioned here - we propose a division into five categories: "Belonging"; "Scenarios"; "Space as product"; "Struggle and denouncement", and "Symbiosis", between belonging and scenarios. Such aspects would communicate a possible trend in music videos and the dialogues between cities and societies in contemporary audiovisual production in Latin America.
