En el presente trabajo se describe un mercado de tierras surgido en el ejido indígena Piedra Labrada, en donde después de las reformas liberales de 1992 que culminaron en la expedición de una nueva Ley Agraria, casi la mitad de las tierras ejidales fueron vendidas a personas externas por la segunda generación de ejidatarios justo después de haberlas recibido como herencia por parte de sus padres o abuelos. Se analizan las implicaciones esto ha tenido para la continuidad socioeconómica y cultural del ejido, en particular para la organización de la unidad doméstica y las reglas de la herencia.
