Summary:This article aims to detach the importance of Sarandi Farm occupation to the colonization and land reform projects developed during the Leonel Brizola government (1959-1963). This occupation occurred in January of 1962 in Rio Grande do Sul state. In this sense, from the versions of six spectators that were involved with this event in innumerous ways, the objective is to identify how the occupation organization utilized a series of elements that were indispensable to legitimate the mobilization as well as the positive response forwarded by the government.
