Description
Summary:From an anthropological approach this paper presents an institutional ethnography of the program Leave Healthy, Return Healthy, which was part of the bi-national agenda on Migration and Health between Mexico and the United States in the first decade of the XXIst Century. Thus, although the program has failed it fostered some lessons and ideas about social control mechanisms that are used by government institutions to regulate undocumented rural Mexican immigrants. All the same, this structure paved the way to the advent of news actors who offer health packages and obey market domination strategies. Hence the inheritances of this program are the focus of this analysis.
