Description
Summary:An ethnographic account of conflicts between indigenous people and agroextractivists, who adopt different strategies in the struggle for land rights, in the Tapajós-Arapiuns Extractive Reserve (Resex) area, in western Pará. It will talk about groups that traditionally inhabit their lands – some identifying themselves as indigenous peoples, others not – as well as their respective external allies. In this admittedly historical and contextual way of reporting the conflict, it will be possible to visualize agents and actors and the development of crises between different institutions and levels of institutionality. How is it possible that the effervescence of a process of ethnic emergence is seen as a threat by other organizations of the so-called social movement and by government agencies? What do these different groups and institutions seek or dispute?
