Description
Summary:This article analyzes the effects of the Food Purchaseb Program (PAA – Programa de Aquisição de Alimentos), for settlements in the state of Sao Paulo. We considered two types of cases for this study: an urban perimeter settlement and a settlement located near Pontal do Paranapanema region. The PAA program stimulates proximity short circuits, incorporating support for family agriculture products commercialization and food assistance in the same public policy. Our analysis focus on changes of the settlement families’ food choices as much as the effects of this public policy on the recipients of these family agriculture products.
