| Summary: | The boundary between Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro, presents many rural black communities, which, despite the territorial confinement due to the degrading conditions of labor based on the historical slavery relations, are related through rituals benefi ts from links with spiritual entities. It is claimed that the mythical partnership among afro-brazilian entities pretos-velhos and caboclos is a model for simultaneity and interdependence of vertical links (brotherhood-spiritual entities) and horizontal (communities-communities). From the local concept of spiritual fl owing, these links are fundamental to think about a distinct territorial occupation concept of private property. |
