| Summary: | This article explores different dynamics of kinship and family correlating them with consolidated practices of displacement and housing alternation encompassing the social universes of the Pernambuco’s countryside and Mid-North Mato Grosso. From ethnographic data, it intend to show that the meanings, functions, and scope assigned to family can be extended or restricted, multiplied or displaced throughout people’s trajectories, and that this malleability witnesses the relevance and vigor of family within ideas, morals, feelings as well as within the relationships and practices. |
