| Summary: | This article examines aspects in the fight for land in Alto Rio Pardo, north of Minas. The starting point was the organization of about 70 families in the municipalities of Novorizonte-MG and Fruta de Leite-MG, hit by a land grabbing process. This organization leads them to know that traditional communities geraizeiras are organized around their specific demands, but that on the whole find themselves linked by common issues: the defense of the territorial rights and the fight against the business model of land ownership represented by monoculture eucalyptus and mining. |
