| Summary: | This paper analyzes the meanings of political participation by the perspective of the representatives of rural communities in the Municipal Council of Rural Development of Viçosa in Minas Gerais State (Brazil). Considering that many representatives had never had a formal contact neither with participative politics nor with rules and rituals of these spaces, we aim to comprehend how these agents perceives the political participation along this process. For that, we realize aparticipant observation, written records analysis and attendance of the paths of thesepeople in those deliberative and bureaucratic environments, during their term of office(two years) ahead of their communities ’representation. |
