Description
Summary:This article intend discuss the mobility phenomenon in their interrelation with the construction of projects of autonomy for migrant workers. For this purpose, I start with the reconstruction of the migratory paths in the city of Santa Lucia – SP and the native categories that put in opposition the work in the cane fields of São Paulo and the work in the family lands or partnership arrangements at places of origin. It is highlighted how mobility is intertwined with the possibility of overcoming domination schemes and with the establishment of new families. In this context, emerges the construction of own houses in Santa Lucia that will offer concreteness to such projects.
