Description
Summary:This article aims to analyze the trajectory of the newspaper A Terra Livre and its relationship with anarcho-communism and revolutionary syndicalism. Critically to the interpretation produced by the Brazilian historiography of the 1980s, which placed A Terra Livre as an anarcho-syndicalist newspaper and which contrasted La Battaglia conceptions, seen as anarcho-communist and contrary to the union struggle, we seek to demonstrate that the newspaper had a very close relationship with anarcho-communist principles, as it appears in the works of Piotr Kropotkin, Errico Malatesta and Élisée Reclus, and that the position in favor of union struggles held by its editors was not anarcho-syndicalist, but an organizational anarchist conception of revolutionary syndicalism.
