Summary:This paper discusses the characteristics of the neo-rural population and their forms of action. It is discussed the new forms of occupation of rural areas and the multiple functions assigned to it. It analyses the construction of the new ruralities and the different ways of occupying the land. It also underlines the differences between rural and urban and how their meanings can influence social construction. At last, the land occupation is studied taking into account the peculiarities of the population (new and local) related to the productive and organizational aspects within organic agriculture.
