| Summary: | The essay that follows seeks to reflect on landscape as a category and ethnographic interlocutor in the field of anthropology in the context of the Anthropocene. Initially, we seek to present, from a very brief ethnographic report, the concepts and analytical perspectives that inspire us. Then, we try to describe the historical-political-cultural events that printed and print clear digitals in the researched landscape: namely, the Florianópolis Bay, Santa Catarina, Brazil. Finally, we take the essay to tour ethnographic histories of multispecies relationships collected throughout the field carried out between 2017 and 2020, to illustrate an urgency: that it is no longer enough to preserve, it is necessary to recover; and that this task requires more than listening to the inhabitants – human and non-human – of this landscape: it is necessary to carefully recognize their knowledge and their strategies for occupying the ruins. |
