Description
Summary:This paper approaches landscape transformations from a perspective which includes the actions of humans and non humans, going beyond the “Nature/Culture” opposition. Its focus lies over the area in which the State Park of Rio Vermelho (Florianópolis/SC) is currently located. The author ponders on the perceptions and practices underlying the former forestry project on the area, which was based on modern rationality, aiming for landscape homogenization, erasing traces of local dwellers. It also examines the unfolding of this project, whose crisis led to unexpected proccesses of difference production, affording the proliferation of new heterogeneous elements in the landscape.
