Summary:The article investigates the representation of interests of the Rural Union of São Sepé (Rio Grande do Sul/Brazil), as a local spokesperson for rural patronage. The objective is to identify the representatives of the rural patronage class and understand the social practices that involve the process of formation of this class. The methodology supports a combination of techniques: local visits, document analysis, interviews, observation, and digital network/sites research. The research contemplates the entity organizational structure, the relationships established with other professional associations and the presidents’ socioeconomic aspects and social trajectories.
