Description
Summary:This paper discusses the production of feral landscapes in Southern Brazil through the expansion of two alien invasive species: European Wild Boar (Sus scrofa) and South-African lovegrass (Eragrostis plana Nees), locally known as Capim-Annoni. By feral landscapes, we mean the spatiotemporal configurations produced by living and non-living beings that gain new powers by associating themselves to human infrastructures and its projects of modernization. In dialogue with the ecological anthropology of Tsing and Ingold, the paper aims do disclose the processes of landscape transformation underlying the proliferation of both species, as well as its historical and agrarian resonances.
