Description
Summary:Traditional feast that celebrates the patron saint of the Potiguara village of Coqueirinho/PB, whose apogee is a procession of boats to the village of Barra de Mamanguape. It involves thousands of people from different cities in the Mamanguape river valley region. It takes place on the second or third Sunday of December, depending on the stage of the tide and is mainly organized by fishermen. A diversity of senses, gestures and corporeality is noticed in the behavior of the subjects and in the ways in which they trace their trajectories through the feast. A filmic ethnography (FRANCE, 2000) brings to the discussion the relationship between feast (PEREZ, 2012) and landscape, understanding them as open and fluid systems (INGOLD, 2015).
