Description
Summary:Yvonne is one of the lesser-known figures in the group of artists who participated in the Week. The article presents the participation of the dancer Yvonne Daumerie in the second afternoon of the Modern Art Week. She recovers her previous activities as a dancer and teacher, her participation in a new event linked to Modernism, still in 1922, her work as an opera choreographer and the development of her career focused on Brazilian popular music as a villain from the 1930s. It also brings a brief survey of the "modern" dancers who were in São Paulo between the 10's and 20's, and who, reportedly, were important influences on Yvonne Daumerie's style and performances.
