Description
Summary:This article is a reflection from the networks of creation of the playDevorando heróis: a tragédia segundo os pícaros, from the street theater collective Os Pícaros Incorrigíveis (Fortaleza/CE). From the perspective of the thinking/doing of the artist-researcher and relying on methodological resources of performance anthropology, we seek to understand how carnival is used as a device for dramaturgical construction and how the carnival ritual happens in this street performance. Finally, we understand that the aesthetic choices of the spectacle point to a poetics of artistic creation and of existence crossed by carnival. The linkage between the elements party, theater, art, and life is found in the picaresque carnival of Devorando Heróis and crosses the ethics of the collective, which also guides its mode of existence in the party.
